I do this all the time. Well ... since online surfing with my mobile started to become a lot cheaper and hotspots are being setup near shopping areas I tend to go to. And than I'm not even mentioning (free) WiFi spots at my favorite places for coffee or lunch, which when I am shopping for something gives me even more time to check out all prices.
I can tell you that the deals I get when I confront a shop employee with my findings, is well worth the time or the cost I might have payed for (mobile) surfing.

What's wrong with using "Web 2.0" to go "Shop 2.0" ?
